ACCESSIBILITYStatement

Accessibility at Beirut Bodega.

Last updated September 2026. This statement explains how this website is built to be usable by everyone, the standard it is measured against, and how to tell us when it falls short.

Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to read our menu, find our address and book a table, whatever they are using to do it. Accessibility is part of how the site is built, not something added afterwards.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That is the standard Ontario's accessibility law (AODA) is built on, and it is a stricter one than the law itself requires.

What we have done

Every page has a landmark structure and a skip link, so a screen reader can move straight to the content. Every interactive control has a visible focus ring and meets the minimum target size of 24 by 24 pixels, with the buttons and form fields larger again. Colour combinations are checked against the contrast minimums before they ship. Motion respects the 'reduce motion' setting on your device. The menus, forms and sections all work with a keyboard alone, and nothing important depends on colour or on hovering.

One thing we know falls short, and we would rather list it than leave it out: the small links in our footer are shorter than that minimum. They sit well apart, so they can still be tapped, and we keep them that size on purpose. They are below the floor, and it belongs here.

Known limitations

Three things on this site are not ours and we cannot fully control them. The live menu is drawn by Marqii, the reservation widget by OpenTable, and the map on the Visit page by OpenStreetMap. Each has its own accessibility, and browsers do not let us draw a focus ring on a frame from another site. If any of them makes something unusable for you, tell us and we will give you the same information another way.

Tell us about a barrier

If something here is hard or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it. Tell us what you were trying to do, and we will answer with the information directly and fix the page where we can.
